Artist's Statement

When I paint, I prefer simple compositions. This allows me to express with color a fun, even humorous, view of life. When I can say a painting gives me a happy feeling, I know that I have reached my goal. This is why I think my major influences have been the French fauvist especially Matisse and Dufy. I have been inspired by many trips to France and the freedom their culture allows the arts.

I live to share this joie de vie.
